Autumn inspired cupcakes!

I am in love with these cupcakes! They are so cute and soo yummy! Best of all they were super easy to make!

Ingredients for basic cupcake recipe:

225g    Plain flour

225g    Caster sugar

225g    Softened butter or margarine

1 tbsp  Baking powder

1 tbsp Vanilla essence

3   Large eggs

For the orange chocolate cupcakes add:

 The rind and juice of one orange 

For the pumpkin spice cupcakes add: 

1tbsp   Mixed spice

1/2 - 1 cup of pureed pumpkin

For the icing 

Orange chocolate:

70g    Softened butter

140g   Icing sugar 

2tbsp  Coca powder

8 squares of melted dark chocolate

Orange decorative balls to decorate

Pumpkin spice:

50g    Softened butter

75g    Cream cheese

250g  Icing sugar

1tbsp Vanilla essence

Candied pecans to decorate

Channeling my inner Carrie..

I have always been a super huge fan if the 80's, from the movies, music, fashion to the celebrities! I've always said if I could live in any other time it would be then. The breakfast club, Back to te future an pretty in pink are all in my all time fave movies! 

So when I heard about the new Carrie diaries show, set in the 80's, I soooo excited!!! 

However I didn't have a tv :( thankfully my younger sister had *ahem* acquired them  so when I moved back home I couldn't wait to watch them!! 

I've been back 1 day and am already on to season 2! Oops :/ and well I'm sure you can guess what happened next.. I'm in love!!!!

Today I was getting ready to go out, whilst watching The Carrie Diaries (of course!!) and decided I was going channel my inner Carrie Bradshaw!!

 I curled my hair with a curling wand (using the small end to get super tight curls) and only used minimal face make up with a strong brow and a pop of colour on my lips.. And here's the finished look! I love it!! 

Then there was the outfit, although it's summer here it was pretty cold so I opted for high waisted jeans and a cute jumper.. 

What I wore:

On my face:

Rimmel wake me up foundation 

Benefit blush in Dandelion 

Benefit's They're Real mascara 

Thin Lizzie as eyeshadow 

Australis brow pension in blonde/light brown 

Rimmel apocolips in Stella 

I'm loving this look, seriously considering getting my hair permed like this!!

1. How long have you been blogging for?
Only a couple months.. I don't have much time to blog as I also work full time AND study full time!!

2. Favourite blogs?
My all time fave would have to be Zoella, she's one of the reasons I started! I also love the beauty department.

3. Are you more of a bold lip or dramatic eye kinda girl?
Bold lip! I have very small eyes so big dramatic looks make them look even smaller :( 

4. Favourite makeup brand?
I love love love Rimmel! But I've recently discovered Benefit (there is 1 store in the whole of my country!!) and am really enjoying that!!

5. If you could only shop in one store for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The warehouse!! Haha simply because you can buy everything from clothes and shoes to camping gear to pet food to washing machines!! 


6.Favourite TV series?
This is a hard one because I love the vampire diaries, but I also love Castle and all the detective shows like that! 

7. If you had to compare your style to one celebrity, who would it be?
Uhhhh... I have no idea! I can't really say one, I love so many different styles. If you could mix Taylor Swift with Vanessa Hudgens with Alexa Chung with every character on Pretty Little Liars... Then that's me haha

8. What is your holy-grail beauty product?
Hydrocortizone cream... Haha I couldn't live without this! Ok ok I know its not really what you meant! Either Rimmel's 'Wake me up' foundation or my Natural Collection brown water proof mascara!

9. Favourite place in the world you have visited?
Disneyland!! And I get to go to Hong Kong AND Paris this April!! Eeeekk!

10. All time favourite CD?
Don't laugh... Eminem - Curtain Call (But really any one of his albums!)

11.By this time next year, what do you hope to have achieved with your blog?
I don't really know actually... I want people to be able to see my blog and have it, hopefully, help them in some way. If not I don't really mind. I would like to start making YouTube videos, I guess this could be a start :)

Fluro..

I love love love my nail colour right now!! 

Fluor coral! It's super cute and looks awesome with a tan (mines still non existent at the moment) I love this colour for summer, what do you think?

Sunshine

Today was super sunny, I couldn't resist taking a few snaps in the sunshine!! 

What I wore:

On my face:

Face: Lo'real Paris True match concealer in shade 2 

Bronzer: Thin Lizzie 

Blush:  Benefit Dandelion 

Eyes: Matte brown shadow and Benefit's They're real mascara 

Eyebrows: Australias eyebrow pencil in light 

Lips: Maybeline colour whisper in "Lust for blush"

Also I'm in love with these sunnies at the moment they just remind me I'd the 60's!! Haha

The problem with OPI...

I'm a huge nail polish fan, I have over 60 nail polishes! From the cheap $2 ones all the way to Essie and OPI.

Trouble is I'm actually more impressed with the cheaper polishes!! 

Last year I bought a dupe for OPI Rainbow Connection it cost me $13 and it was awesome! 

But I actually wanted the real thing, so a few months later I bought it for $24.99 (yes I know extortionate price right?!) and as I was looking for a colour for my nails I noticed this: 

Yup that's right, that's my OPI Rainbow Connection less than a year after I bought it!! 

Ok ok I know it's been a while, but then I looked and the cheap knock off I bought a few months before it bought the original  and well.... 

So how can a cheap nail polish out last a supposedly superior brand?? 

Does anyone else find this? I've noticed it a few times and it really bugs me that they can charge so much for something that's actually not a very good quality!
